What is Yma am Byth | Here for Good?
Yma am Byth | Here for Good is a campaign built around one simple question worth asking when you write or update your Will: “Would you like any charitable gift in your Will to benefit Wales or your local community?”
Everyone’s legacy is different, and it’s not about one charity. The campaign brings together a founding group of Welsh charities – from cancer research to football, grassroots funding to emergency services – to help people understand their options and make an informed choice about where their charitable gift could make a difference.
Whether you want to support your local community, a particular cause or Wales more broadly, the choice is yours.
Why does this matter?
The campaign aims to raise awareness of legacy giving and the importance of making a clear, informed choice about where a charitable gift should benefit.
Similarly named charities, unclear wording and simple oversight can mean a gift intended for Wales ends up supporting a cause elsewhere in the UK instead.
Take Cancer Research Wales, for example. It is a completely independent charity from Cancer Research UK. A gift meant for one won’t automatically reach the other unless it is named correctly.
We’re not here to tell you where your money should go. We simply want to help people make sure their legacy lands where they mean it to – helping Wales and its communities keep growing forward.
